PNC just took over our loan. After one week they were telling us we didn't have hazard insurance.

I had the insurance company fax them proof. Today I just got a foreclosure notice! I have never even been late on my payment once. There has to be something we as consumers can do to close down this incompetent company!

I already with through all this with my last mortgage company which was Greentree. They couldn't get their records straight either.

Maybe these companies should hire people and pay them more than minimum wage to handle our financial lives. Anyone know of a good mortgage company?

Monetary Loss: $100.

Location: San Diego, California

I am an attorney and I would like to speak to you about a class action against PNC involving their insurance practices. Please call me at 212-897-****, or email me at nhart@***t-smart.net. Thank you.

My mortgage is an FHA loan (I'm a teacher) that was bought out by RBC before my first payment was due in 2006. When PNC bought RBC, it was a nightmare. I was never behind, never missed a payment, and always paid 1 month ahead. I was teaching summer school the summer of 2012 and they forgot our entire school for summer school pay and only do payroll certain days of the week. It was going to be about a week later that I got my paycheck and so I called PNC and told them that I would pay both the next month's payment along with the August one at the end of August. They also had the wrong numbers for my so I updated them with that as well.

WELL....I had entered the amount for my August payment because the system would not let me pay the September payment as well (it would just go to interest) so I logged out and back in paid the September payment. Apparently this September payment did not go through so I was no longer paying a month ahead but for that month. Being that I was finishing up grad school and asked to take on an extra class (meaning that I would no longer have a planning period) and teaching a new subject for the year, and getting our summer school payment with our regular pay around the same time I did not think twice that the extra payment hadn't been made. This was of course my fault but I still was not behind on my payments..still up to date, the payment that I paid in December (which I thought was for January) was for December.

Somehow between exams, etc I forgot to double check to see that my January payment hadn't made it. And the extra $635.00 in my account was justified in that I had gotten both my state and federal income tax returns. In February, I was out of town and could not find a local PNC branch so I went online to pay it...PNC's easy pay would not accept my loan number because it was no longer compatible with Safari. So I went to the PNC website to find where to mail the check. I found the address, went online to my bank and the only address that came up in their billpay system was the same address but a different PO Box. I sent the payment their (electronically thank GOD) and checked a few days later and it cleared the bank and had been cashed. In March, I sent the next payment and the day that PNC cashed my check, their was also a "debit" for the same amount and from PNC. I assumed that it was an error, and at the end of the month (AFTER I had sent my April's payment, my account was over. I was unable to call PNC mortgage during their normal hours because well I work and don't get home until after they close at 5.

I just happened to be on Spring Break April 1. I got a letter from PNC dated March 22 (which happened to be a Friday) and a letter from their Attorney dated April 2 the SAME DAY in the mail. Mind you this was the only form of communication that I got from PNC since my yearly statement in December. The letter from PNC said that they wanted to help me with paying my mortgage. The letter from their attorney said that they were trying to collect a debt and foreclose on my house. Neither letter had a dollar amount or anything explaining why they were trying to foreclose.

I called PNC, they had no idea where my money went. I told them that I had the canceled checks. They asked me to email those to them. They still had no idea and couldnt help me unless I agreed to pay their attorney's fees and of course I said no. They told me to contact the attorney to see if they could waive the fees, they said no because PNC had to agree to waive those.

Needless to say this went on and on for a day. I was able to find out that FHA, and PNC MAKE money when they foreclose on these loans and that they were holding my payments for a month, making interest on the money, and then getting paid by the government because they were reporting that I was not paying.

Three days later...spending each of the three days on hold and speaking to numerous different people at both the law offices and at PNC, PNC said that they couldn't take a penny from me unless I agreed to pay the attorney's fees, which they couldn't tell me how much they were but could be as much as $4,000.

I called my bank to see what/where the money had gone and they did some research and found out that it was electronically wired back into my account but that no other message was left when it was done, So being an AWESOME credit union, the rep I was speaking to called PNC Mortgage and spoke to the same lady I had been dealing with. WE asked her where I was supposed to actually send the payment since PNC was cashing it but not posting it to my account, she out us on hold for less than a minute and said I was to send it to Atlanta since my property is in NC. I went online and there is NO Atlanta address listed for NC mortgages.

I called their attorney back and asked her to look up on the PNC website and see if she could find an Atlanta address anywhere on there. She was not able to and she printed out the screen shot of the webpage and noted my file.

A few hours later (around 9pm EST) I got an email from the lady at PNC "apologizing in advance for the misinformation she provided. The correct address was the one you stated earlier." But which address was this, the first one or the second one that we found???

A week later I got a letter from the attorney saying that I owed 5 months of missed payments (this is April mind you) and over $600 in fees. At this point I got an attorney involved for myself. He too got the run around and told me to continue to pay my payment but to send it to the correct address and to do it electronically the same way so that there was a trail. I did and let him know when I sent my May payment. He called to see if it had been posted to my account about a week after it was cashed. They couldn't tell him then but would have an answer for him at the beginning of the next week.

The only other correspondence I got from PNC has been a letter in mid April saying that they were looking into my inquiry and then a letter at the beginning of May to say that they received (3weeks prior) my letter stating that they had permission to talk to my attorney about my account.

Guess what!!! They couldn't tell him. Then on Tuesday, this week, June 11, I got a paper check from PNC refunding my May payment because it was still in foreclosure dated May 29 (seems that things don't get mailed when they are dated there) AND a letter from their attorney stating that they were going through with the foreclosure. Did I mention that I had mailed them a check for the 3 payments in question that was never cashed nor returned? So on Tuesday , my attorney told me to stop payment on the check and to still pay my June Payment.

Yesterday, June 15, I received a certified letter from PNC's attorney with a court date for foreclosure hearing.

Needless to say my credit is ruined and the stress is horrible BUT I do have a good attorney that is working on this for me pro bono since he is a family friend.

This is a nightmare no doubt and I will be posting to every possible website that I can to make people aware that PNC is a bunch of fraudulent brokers.
